Ingredients:
- 1 medium yellow onion
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 1/2 cups shredded medium cheddar cheese
- 3 tsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 package king's hawaiian sweet rolls
- 8 slices american cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tsp white sesame seeds
Directions:
-
Add 2 tsp oil to a large skillet over high heat and cook thinly-sliced onions
until well done, about 4-6 minutes.
-
Lower heat to medium-high and add remaining oil and 1 pound of ground beef. Break
into small pieces and cook until fully done, about 5 minutes.
-
Add mustard, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continuously
stir and cook for another 2 minutes, or until the meat is starting to turn dark-brown.
-
Slice a package of hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally. Do not separate the
rolls. Add 8 slices of american cheese to fully cover rolls. Cover cheese with
layer of cooked onions. Cover the onions with an even layer of beef. Then sprinkle
shredded cheese over the beef before topping off with sliced pickles. Cover with
the remaining top layer of buns.
-
Brush melted butter onto top of buns before sprinkling sesame seeds over them.
Then cover the pan with aluminum foil before baking for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
After 10 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and cook for another 12 to 15 minutes.
